I just finished watching the “The Restaurateur,” a film about the grand ambitions of the then young Danny Meyer. In 1998 Meyer planned to open 2 restaurants, “Eleven Madison Park” and the now closed “Tabla,” simultaneously in the same year and to achieve the coveted 4 star status from the New York Times. The film shows the challenges that he and his team had to overcome in making his vision a reality. Also in the film are such restaurant heavyweights as Tom Colloccio, Kerry Heffern, and Floyd Cardoz in their younger years. “The Restaurateur” is a great film for all the regulars at a Danny Meyer restaurants.
