I just finished watching the “The Restaurateur,” a film about the grand ambitions of the then young Danny Meyer. In 1998 Meyer planned to open 2 restaurants, “Eleven Madison Park” and the now closed “Tabla,” simultaneously in the same year and to achieve the coveted 4 star status from the New York Times. The film shows the challenges that he and his team had to overcome in making his vision a reality. The list price for the cookbook is $625, but it can be purchased at Amazon.com for $460., although it is currently out of stock.

A Mouthful is a documentary of the rise and fall of one of the most talented chef’s in NYC, Paul Liebrandt. Currently, Paul is the executive chef of Corton, a two Michelin star  restaurant in TriBeCa. The film will premiere at the South By Southwest Film Festival in March. It’s a very interesting film that I would definitely watch. Unfortunately ,there’s currently no additional information on when the film will be shown nationwide or in NYC.
